Our team works tirelessly to proactively protect and empower the community, through constant vigilance, round-the-clock threat analysis, and our 24/7 Control Room. When you see the CSO team at your school, shul, communal facilities, and events, know that they are there to ensure joyful celebration and the continuity of Jewish life.

Physical Protection

Our highly trained protectors secure community schools, shuls, youth camps, shabbatons, outings and events. The School Security Division and Parent & Shul Teams support our staff and volunteers ensuring comprehensive coverage and monitoring. The Security Response Team address active threats and suspicious activity and assist in missing persons cases and during community psychiatric emergencies.

Facilities Advice and Guidance

To enhance their security measures, we offer comprehensive guidance and support to schools, shuls, youth camps, event hosts, shabbatons, community restaurants and businesses. Ongoing evaluation ensures that their technical and physical security standards meet our stringent criteria. This means that the community is protected, secure, and can engage in daily life without fear.

Community Events

We secure over 600 events each year in the Western Cape, ranging from large public gatherings to intimate shul and community events. Our behind-the-scenes security planning and visible and active on-the-ground presence, creates a safe space for guests to immerse themselves in the enriching experiences the events offer and to gather with confidence, knowing their safety is our top priority.

Crisis Planning

To prepare for emergencies, we run regular Disaster & Incident Management training. If an incident occurs, our crisis management plan is activated. By working with key stakeholders, we ensure Jewish facilities and organisations are supported in crafting their own crisis management strategies, including incidents arising from acts of terrorism, natural disasters, or other circumstances.

24/7 Control Room

Our 24/7 Control Room is the
go-to for the community to
report security or medical
emergencies, suspicious
activity, or potential threats to Cape Town’s Jewish community. Our full-time controllers dispatch relevant security and emergency
medical responders swiftly and effectively. The Control Room also performs 24/7 CCTV monitoring and sends out alerts for any suspicious activity.
