You are our Global Family.
Let’s Thrive Together.

Distance changes the view, not the connection.

Whether you’ve lived here, have family or a home here, or you simply love Cape Town’s Jewish community, you are our Global Family. And as family, you deserve the full picture.

Every patrol, response, safe minyan, school day, and simcha exists because ordinary people choose to step up. Together, we’ve built one of the most respected community safety, security and 24/7 emergency medical response
organisations in the world.

But the reality is this: growing antisemitic threats, rising costs,
and zero national government support, means we cannot slow down. To keep protecting our community with the excellence and care they deserve, we need our Global Family.

Stand with us so we can keep standing strong for every Jew in Cape Town. If you’d like to discuss creating something powerful together or have any questions, click the Whatsapp button below or send an email to amandaz@csocape.org.za

Donate your Simcha.

When you make a donation to celebrate a simcha, the Chaggim, a Shabbos thank you, or in the honor or memory of someone special, you’ll make a lasting impact by providing vital services to Cape Town’s Jewish community. Where appropriate, we will send your loved one a beautiful card letting them know that a donation has been made in their name, without referencing the amount donated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, if you donate through our trusted fiscal agents:
• US donors: Charities Aid Foundation America – you receive a US tax receipt.
• UK donors: UK Fund for Charities – you receive a UK receipt, and Gift Aid may apply if you are eligible.
• Australian donors: Chai Charitable Foundation – you receive an Australian receipt.
• Canadian donors: Charities Aid Foundation Canada – you receive a Canadian charitable receipt.
If you live elsewhere, you can still donate directly, but tax deductibility may not apply in your country. Please get in touch to discuss the details on amandaz@csocape.org.za

Most countries do not allow you to claim tax benefits for donations made directly to a foreign organisation. That’s why we work with trusted fiscal agents in different countries. You donate locally through them, they issue the appropriate receipt in your country, and the funds are then directed to support CSO Cape Town. It keeps things compliant, simple, and recognised for tax purposes where possible.

Your donation supports 24/7 emergency medical response, safety, and security for the Cape Town Jewish community. This includes:
• Security planning and visible protection at shuls, schools, and community events
• Rapid response to threats and incidents
• On-call 24/7 medical emergency response when someone is in crisis
• Training and equipment for our volunteer protectors who are the first line of defense keeping our community safe.
CSO Cape Town receives no Government funding for our work, which means that we rely on donations from our local and global family.

Yes. Our fiscal agents in the US, UK, Australia and Canada allow you to set up a recurring monthly gift in your local currency. You can update or cancel your commitment at any time by contacting the partner you donated through.

Yes. You can donate in South African Rand (ZAR) by credit card, SnapScan, or EFT. Your bank will automatically convert from your currency to ZAR and may apply a small conversion fee. You will receive a receipt, although it may not qualify for tax relief in your country.

We can assist with corporate giving, legacy giving, funding security for a specific shul, or supporting High Holy Day operations.

Yes, you can make a gift in the honour or memory of someone special. This can include a personal message of dedication, and we can send a personal letter and/or e-card to the person or family you choose.
